BNV : এক জন ব্বিাহিত ভাব্বাদীর মৃত্যু হলে তার স্ত্রী এসে ইলীশায়ের কাছে কেঁদে পড়লো, “আমার স্বামী অনুগত ভৃত্যের মতো আপনার সেবা করেছেন| কিন্তু এখন তিনি মৃত! আপনি জানেন আমার স্বামী প্রভুকে সম্মান করেন কিন্তু তিনি এক জন পুরুষের কাছে টাকা ধার করেছিলেন| এখন সেই মহাজন এীতদাস বানানোর জন্য আমার দুই পুত্রকে নিতে আসছে|”
KJV : Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the LORD: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen.
YLT : And a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets hath cried unto Elisha, saying, `Thy servant, my husband, is dead, and thou hast known that thy servant was fearing Jehovah, and the lender hath come to take my two children to him for servants.`
RV : Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead: and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the LORD: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two children to be bondmen.

ESV : Now the wife of one of the sons of the prophets cried to Elisha, "Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the LORD, but the creditor has come to take my two children to be his slaves."
ERVEN : A man from the group of prophets had a wife. This man died, and his wife cried out to Elisha, "My husband was like a servant to you. Now he is dead! You know he honored the Lord. But he owed money to a man. Now that man is coming to take my two boys and make them his slaves!"

BNV : ইলীশায় জিজ্ঞেস করলেন, “কিন্তু আমি কি করে তোমায় সাহায্য করবো? তোমার বাড়িতে কি আছে বলো?”সেই স্ত্রীলোকটি বললো, “আমার বাড়িতে এক জালা তেল ছাড়া আর কিছুই নেই|”
KJV : And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil.
YLT : And Elisha saith unto her, `What do I do for thee? declare to me, what hast thou in the house?` and she saith, `Thy maid-servant hath nothing in the house except a pot of oil.`
RV : And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me; what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil.
RSV : And Elisha said to her, "What shall I do for you? Tell me; what have you in the house?" And she said, "Your maidservant has nothing in the house, except a jar of oil."
ASV : And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me; what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thy handmaid hath not anything in the house, save a pot of oil.
ESV : And Elisha said to her, "What shall I do for you? Tell me; what have you in the house?" And she said, "Your servant has nothing in the house except a jar of oil."
ERVEN : Elisha answered, "How can I help you? Tell me, what do you have in your house?" The woman said, "I don't have anything in the house except a jar of olive oil."

BNV : তখন ইলীশায় বললেন, “যাও তোমার পাড়া প্রতিবেশীদের কাছ থেকে য়তো পারো খালি বাটি জোগাড় করে নিয়ে এসো|
KJV : Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, [even] empty vessels; borrow not a few.
YLT : And he saith, `Go, ask for thee vessels from without, from all thy neighbours -- empty vessels -- let [them] not be few;
RV : Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few.
RSV : Then he said, "Go outside, borrow vessels of all your neighbors, empty vessels and not too few.
ASV : Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbors, even empty vessels; borrow not a few.
ESV : Then he said, "Go outside, borrow vessels from all your neighbors, empty vessels and not too few.
ERVEN : Then Elisha said, "Go and borrow bowls from all your neighbors. They must be empty. Borrow plenty of bowls.

BNV : তারপর বাড়ি গিয়ে সমস্ত দরজা বন্ধ করে দাও, ঘরে য়েন তুমি আর তোমার পুত্ররা ছাড়া কেউ না থাকে| এরপর ঐ জালা থেকে তেল ঢেলে প্রত্যেকটা বাটি ভর্তি করে আলাদা আলাদা জায়গায় সরিয়ে রাখো|”
KJV : And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full.
YLT : and thou hast entered, and shut the door upon thee, and upon thy sons, and hast poured out into all these vessels, and the full ones thou dost remove.`
RV : And thou shalt go in, and shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and pour out into all those vessels; and thou shalt set aside that which is full.
RSV : Then go in, and shut the door upon yourself and your sons, and pour into all these vessels; and when one is full, set it aside."

ESV : Then go in and shut the door behind yourself and your sons and pour into all these vessels. And when one is full, set it aside."
ERVEN : Then go to your house and close the doors. Only you and your sons will be in the house. Then pour the oil into all the bowls. Fill them, and put them in a separate place."

BNV : তখন সেই স্ত্রীলোকটি বাড়ী ফিরে গিয়ে সমস্ত দরজা বন্ধ করে দিল| সে আর তার পুত্ররাই শুধুমাত্র ঘরে ছিল| পুত্ররা একটার পর একটা বাটি আনছিল|
KJV : So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought [the vessels] to her; and she poured out.
YLT : And she goeth from him, and shutteth the door upon her, and upon her sons; they are bringing nigh unto her, and she is pouring out,

ERVEN : So the woman left Elisha, went into her house, and shut the door. Only she and her sons were in the house. Her sons brought the bowls to her and she poured oil.

BNV : স্ত্রীলোকটি সেগুলোতে তেল ঢালছিল| এমনি করে করে বহু পাত্র ভরা হল| অবশেষে সে তার পুত্রদের বললো, “আমাকে আর একটি বাটি এনে দাও|”তার এক পুত্র তাকে বললো, “আর তো বাটি নেই|” তত্‌ক্ষণাত্‌ জালার তেল ফুরিযে গেল|
KJV : And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, [There is] not a vessel more. And the oil stayed.
YLT : and it cometh to pass, at the filling of the vessels, that she saith unto her son, `Bring nigh unto me a vessel more,` and he saith unto her, `There is not a vessel more;` and the oil stayeth.

ERVEN : She filled many bowls. Finally, she said to her son, "Bring me another bowl." But all of the bowls were full. One of the sons said to her, "There aren't any more bowls." Then the oil in the jar was finished!

BNV : স্ত্রীলোকটি গিয়ে ঈশ্বরের লোক, ইলীশায়কে একথা জানালো| ইলীশায় তাকে বললেন, “যাও, তেল বিক্রি করে দেনা মিটিযে ফেলো| যা বাকী টাকা থাকবে তাতে তোমার আর তোমার পুত্রদের জন্য য়থেষ্ট হবে|”
KJV : Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy children of the rest.
YLT : And she cometh and declareth to the man of God, and he saith, `Go, sell the oil, and repay thy loan; and thou [and] thy sons do live of the rest.`
RV : Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy sons of the rest.

ERVEN : When she told the man of God what had happened, Elisha said to her, "Go, sell the oil and pay your debt. You and your sons can live on the money that is left."

BNV : ইলীশায় যখন একদিন শূনেমে যান, সেখানকার এক ধনবতী মহিলা তাঁকে নিজের বাড়িতে খাবার জন্য নেমন্তন্ন করল| এরপর থেকে ইলীশায় ওখান দিয়ে গেলেই ঐ মহিলার বাড়িতে গিয়ে খাওয়া-দাওয়া করতেন|
KJV : And it fell on a day, that Elisha passed to Shunem, where [was] a great woman; and she constrained him to eat bread. And so it was, [that] as oft as he passed by, he turned in thither to eat bread.
YLT : And the day cometh that Elisha passeth over unto Shunem, and there [is] a great woman, and she layeth hold on him to eat bread, and it cometh to pass, at the time of his passing over, he turneth aside thither to eat bread,
RV : And it fell on a day, that Elisha passed to Shunem, where was a great woman; and she constrained him to eat bread. And so it was, that as oft as he passed by, he turned in thither to eat bread.

BNV : সেই মহিলা তাঁর স্বামীকে বলল, “আমি জানি ইনি ঈশ্বরের একজন পবিত্র মানুষ| সব সময়ই তিনি আমাদের বাড়ির সামনে দিয়ে যাতাযাত করেন|
KJV : And she said unto her husband, Behold now, I perceive that this [is] an holy man of God, which passeth by us continually.
YLT : and she saith unto her husband, `Lo, I pray thee, I have known that a holy man of God he is, passing over by us continually;
RV : And she said unto her husband, Behold now, I perceive that this is an holy man of God, which passeth by us continually.
RSV : And she said to her husband, "Behold now, I perceive that this is a holy man of God, who is continually passing our way.
ASV : And she said unto her husband, Behold now, I perceive that this is a holy man of God, that passeth by us continually.
ESV : And she said to her husband, "Behold now, I know that this is a holy man of God who is continually passing our way.
ERVEN : The woman said to her husband, "Look, I can see that Elisha is a holy man of God. He passes by our house all the time.

BNV : চলো না, ওঁর জন্য ছাদে একটা ছোটো ঘর তুলে দিই| সেখানে একটা বিছানা, টেবিল, চেযার আর বাতিদান রেখে দেব| তাহলে এরপর যখন তিনি আমাদের বাড়ি আসবেন ঐ ঘরখানা নিজের জন্য ব্যবহার করতে পারবেন|”
KJV : Let us make a little chamber, I pray thee, on the wall; and let us set for him there a bed, and a table, and a stool, and a candlestick: and it shall be, when he cometh to us, that he shall turn in thither.
YLT : let us make, I pray thee, a little upper chamber of the wall, and we set for him there a bed, and a table, and a high seat, and a candlestick; and it hath been, in his coming in unto us, he doth turn aside thither.`
RV : Let us make, I pray thee, a little chamber on the wall; and let us set for him there a bed, and a table, and a stool, and a candlestick: and it shall be, when he cometh to us, that he shall turn in thither.
RSV : Let us make a small roof chamber with walls, and put there for him a bed, a table, a chair, and a lamp, so that whenever he comes to us, he can go in there."
ASV : Let us make, I pray thee, a little chamber on the wall; and let us set for him there a bed, and a table, and a seat, and a candlestick: and it shall be, when he cometh to us, that he shall turn in thither.
ESV : Let us make a small room on the roof with walls and put there for him a bed, a table, a chair, and a lamp, so that whenever he comes to us, he can go in there."
ERVEN : Please, let's make a little room on the roof for him. Let's put a bed in this room and a table, a chair, and a lampstand. Then when he comes to our house, he can have this room for himself."

BNV : এক দিন ইলীশায় এই মহিলার বাড়ীতে এলেন, তিনি কক্ষে গিয়ে বিশ্রাম নিলেন|
KJV : And it fell on a day, that he came thither, and he turned into the chamber, and lay there.
YLT : And the day cometh, that he cometh in thither, and turneth aside unto the upper chamber, and lieth there,
RV : And it fell on a day, that he came thither, and he turned into the chamber and lay there.
RSV : One day he came there, and he turned into the chamber and rested there.

ERVEN : One day Elisha came to the woman's house. He went to this room and rested there.

BNV : ইলীশায় তাঁর ভৃত্য গেহসিকে বললেন, “ঐ শূনেমীয মহিলাটিকে ডাক|”ভৃত্যটি মহিলাকে ডেকে আনার পর, সে সামনে দাঁড়ালে ইলীশায়
KJV : And he said to Gehazi his servant, Call this Shunammite. And when he had called her, she stood before him.
YLT : and he saith unto Gehazi his young man, `Call for this Shunammite;` and he calleth for her, and she standeth before him.

BNV : তাঁর ভৃত্যকে বললেন, “ওকে বলো, ‘দেখো তুমি আমাদের দুজনের য়ত্ন নেবার জন্য তোমার যথাসাধ্য করেছো| এখন আমরা তোমার জন্য কি করতে পারি? আমরা কি তোমার হয়ে রাজা বা সেনাপতির কাছে কিছু বলবো?”‘তখন মহিলা উত্তর দিল, “আমি এখানে আমার আত্মীয-স্বজনের মধ্যে দিব্য়ি আছি|”
KJV : And he said unto him, Say now unto her, Behold, thou hast been careful for us with all this care; what [is] to be done for thee? wouldest thou be spoken for to the king, or to the captain of the host? And she answered, I dwell among mine own people.
YLT : And he saith to him, `Say, I pray thee, unto her, Lo, thou hast troubled thyself concerning us with all this trouble; what -- to do for thee? is it to speak for thee unto the king, or unto the head of the host?` and she saith, `In the midst of my people I am dwelling.`
RV : And he said unto him, Say now unto her, Behold, thou hast been careful for us with all this care; what is to be done for thee? wouldest thou be spoken for to the king, or to the captain of the host? And she answered, I dwell among mine own people.
RSV : And he said to him, "Say now to her, See, you have taken all this trouble for us; what is to be done for you? Would you have a word spoken on your behalf to the king or to the commander of the army?" She answered, "I dwell among my own people."
ASV : And he said unto him, Say now unto her, Behold, thou hast been careful for us with all this care; what is to be done for thee? wouldest thou be spoken for to the king, or to the captain of the host? And she answered, I dwell among mine own people.
ESV : And he said to him, "Say now to her, 'See, you have taken all this trouble for us; what is to be done for you? Would you have a word spoken on your behalf to the king or to the commander of the army?'"She answered, "I dwell among my own people."
ERVEN : Elisha told his servant, "Now say to her, 'Look, you have done your best to take care of us. What can we do for you? Do you want us to speak to the king for you, or to the captain of the army?'" She answered, "I am fine living here among my own people."

BNV : ইলীশায় তখন গেহসিকে জিজ্ঞেস করলেন, “আমরা তাহলে ওর জন্য কি করতে পারি?”গেহসি উত্তর দিলো, “দাঁড়ান, আমি যতদূর জানি এই মহিলার কোনো পুত্র নেই আর ওঁর স্বামীরও য়থেষ্ট বয়স হয়েছে|”
KJV : And he said, What then [is] to be done for her? And Gehazi answered, Verily she hath no child, and her husband is old.
YLT : And he saith, `And what -- to do for her?` and Gehazi saith, `Verily she hath no son, and her husband [is] aged.`
RV : And he said, What then is to be done for her? And Gehazi answered, Verily she hath no son, and her husband is old.
RSV : And he said, "What then is to be done for her?" Gehazi answered, "Well, she has no son, and her husband is old."
ASV : And he said, What then is to be done for her? And Gehazi answered, Verily she hath no son, and her husband is old.
ESV : And he said, "What then is to be done for her?" Gehazi answered, "Well, she has no son, and her husband is old."
ERVEN : Elisha said to Gehazi, "What can we do for her?" He answered, "I know! She does not have a son, and her husband is old."

BNV : ইলীশায় বললেন, “ওকে ডেকে নিয়ে এসো|” গেহসি তখন সেই মহিলাকে ডাকতে গেলো| মহিলা এসে দরজার কাছে দাঁড়ালে
KJV : And he said, Call her. And when he had called her, she stood in the door.
YLT : And he saith, `Call for her;` and he calleth for her, and she standeth at the opening,
RV : And he said, Call her. And when he had called her, she stood in the door.
RSV : He said, "Call her." And when he had called her, she stood in the doorway.
ASV : And he said, Call her. And when he had called her, she stood in the door.
ESV : He said, "Call her." And when he had called her, she stood in the doorway.
ERVEN : Then Elisha said, "Call her." So Gehazi called the woman. She came and stood at his door.

BNV : গেহসি তাকে বলল, “প্রায় একই সময়, আগামী বছর তুমি তোমার নিজের পুত্রকে আদর করবে|”একথা শুনে মহিলাটি বলল, “হে প্রভু, আমার সঙ্গে মিথ্যে ছলনা করবেন না!”
KJV : And he said, About this season, according to the time of life, thou shalt embrace a son. And she said, Nay, my lord, [thou] man of God, do not lie unto thine handmaid.
YLT : and he saith, `At this season, according to the time of life, thou art embracing a son;` and she saith, `Nay, my lord, O man of God, do not lie unto thy maid-servant.`
RV : And he said, At this season, when the time cometh round, thou shalt embrace a son. And she said, Nay, my lord, thou man of God, do not lie unto thine handmaid.
RSV : And he said, "At this season, when the time comes round, you shall embrace a son." And she said, "No, my lord, O man of God; do not lie to your maidservant."
ASV : And he said, At this season, when the time cometh round, thou shalt embrace a son. And she said, Nay, my lord, thou man of God, do not lie unto thy handmaid.
ESV : And he said, "At this season, about this time next year, you shall embrace a son." And she said, "No, my lord, O man of God; do not lie to your servant."
ERVEN : Elisha said, "About this time next spring, you will be holding your own baby boy in your arms." The woman said, "No, sir! Man of God, don't lie to me!"

BNV : ইলীশায়ের কথা মতোই, সেই মহিলা পরের বছর সে তার পুত্র সন্তানের জন্ম দিল|
KJV : And the woman conceived, and bare a son at that season that Elisha had said unto her, according to the time of life.
YLT : And the woman conceiveth and beareth a son, at this season, according to the time of life, that Elisha spake of unto her.
RV : And the woman conceived, and bare a son at that season, when the time came round, as Elisha had said unto her.
RSV : But the woman conceived, and she bore a son about that time the following spring, as Elisha had said to her.

BNV : ছেলেটি বড় হবার পর একদিন মাঠে তার পিতার ও অন্যদের সঙ্গে শস্য কাটা দেখতে গেল|
KJV : And when the child was grown, it fell on a day, that he went out to his father to the reapers.
YLT : And the lad groweth, and the day cometh that he goeth out unto his father, unto the reapers,
RV : And when the child was grown, it fell on a day, that he went out to his father to the reapers.

BNV : সেখানে গিয়ে ছেলেটা হঠাত্‌ বলে উঠল, “ওফ্ আমার বড্ড মাথা ব্যথা করছে!”তার পিতা ভৃত্যদের বলল, “ওকে তাড়াতাড়ি ওর মায়ের কাছে নিয়ে যাও!”
KJV : And he said unto his father, My head, my head. And he said to a lad, Carry him to his mother.
YLT : and he saith unto his father, `My head, my head;` and he saith unto the young man, `Bear him unto his mother;`
RV : And he said unto his father, My head, my head. And he said to his servant, Carry him to his mother.
RSV : And he said to his father, "Oh, my head, my head!" The father said to his servant, "Carry him to his mother."
ASV : And he said unto his father, My head, my head. And he said to his servant, Carry him to his mother.

ERVEN : The boy said to his father, "Oh, my head! My head hurts!" The father said to his servant, "Carry him to his mother!"

BNV : ভৃত্যরা ছেলেটিকে তার মায়ের কাছে নিয়ে যাবার পর ও দুপুর পর্য়ন্ত মায়ের কোলে বসে থেকে তারপর মারা গেল|
KJV : And when he had taken him, and brought him to his mother, he sat on her knees till noon, and [then] died.
YLT : and he beareth him, and bringeth him in unto his mother, and he sitteth on her knees till the noon, and dieth.
RV : And when he had taken him, and brought him to his mother, he sat on her knees till noon, and then died.
RSV : And when he had lifted him, and brought him to his mother, the child sat on her lap till noon, and then he died.

ERVEN : The servant took the boy to his mother. The boy sat on his mother's lap until noon. Then he died.

BNV : মহিলাটি তখন মৃত ছেলেটিকে ইলীশায়ের ঘরে তাঁর বিছানায শুইযে দিয়ে ঘরের দরজা বন্ধ করে বেরিয়ে এল|
KJV : And she went up, and laid him on the bed of the man of God, and shut [the door] upon him, and went out.
YLT : And she goeth up, and layeth him on the bed of the man of God, and shutteth [the door] upon him, and goeth out,

ERVEN : One man went out into the field to gather herbs. He found a wild vine and picked the fruit from it. He put that fruit in his robe and brought it back. He cut up the wild fruit and put it into the pot. But the group of prophets did not know what kind of fruit it was.

BNV : ঝোল রান্না হলে পাত্রে কিছুটা ঢেলে সবাইকে খেতে দেওয়া হল| কিন্তু সকলে সেই ঝোল মুখে দিয়েই চিত্কার করে ইলীশায়কে বললো, “ঈশ্বরের লোক পাত্রে বিষ মেশানো আছে!” ঝোলের স্বাদ বিষাক্ত হওয়ায় ওরা কেউই তা খেতে পারলো না|”
KJV : So they poured out for the men to eat. And it came to pass, as they were eating of the pottage, that they cried out, and said, O [thou] man of God, [there is] death in the pot. And they could not eat [thereof. ]
YLT : and they pour out for the men to eat, and it cometh to pass at their eating of the pottage, that they have cried out, and say, `Death [is] in the pot, O man of God!` and they have not been able to eat.
RV : So they poured out for the men to eat. And it came to pass, as they were eating of the pottage, that they cried out, and said, O man of God, there is death in the pot. And they could not eat thereof.

ERVEN : Then they poured some of the soup for the men to eat. But when they began to eat the soup, they shouted out, "Man of God! There's poison in the pot!" The food tasted like poison, so they could not eat that food.

BNV : ইলীশায় তখন কিছুটা মযদা আনতে বললেন| মযদা আনা হলে, তিনি সেই মযদা পাত্রে ছুঁড়ে দিয়ে বললেন, “এবার ঐ ঝোল সবাইকে খেতে দাও|”আর আশ্চর্য়্য় ব্যাপার, ঝোলটা বেশ খাবার য়োগ্য হয়ে গেল|
KJV : But he said, Then bring meal. And he cast [it] into the pot; and he said, Pour out for the people, that they may eat. And there was no harm in the pot.
YLT : And he saith, `Then bring ye meal;` and he casteth into the pot, and saith, `Pour out for the people, and they eat;` and there was no evil thing in the pot.

ERVEN : But Elisha said, "Bring some flour." He threw the flour into the pot. Then he said, "Pour the soup for the people so that they can eat." And there was nothing wrong with the soup.

BNV : বাল্-শালিশা থেকে এক জন ইলীশায়ের জন্য নবান্নের ফসল হিসেবে 20 খানা য়বের রুটি আর ঝোলা ভরে শস্য উপহার নিয়ে এসেছিল| ইলীশায় বললেন, “এই সব খাবার এখানে যারা আছে তাদের খেতে দাও|”
KJV : And there came a man from Baal-shalisha, and brought the man of God bread of the firstfruits, twenty loaves of barley, and full ears of corn in the husk thereof. And he said, Give unto the people, that they may eat.
YLT : And a man hath come from Baal-Shalishah, and bringeth in to the man of God bread of first-fruits, twenty loaves of barley, and full ears of corn in its husk, and he saith, `Give to the people, and they eat.`

ERVEN : A man from Baal Shalishah came and brought bread from the first harvest to the man of God. This man brought 20 loaves of barley bread and fresh grain in his sack. Then Elisha said, "Give this food to the people, so that they can eat."

BNV : ইলীশায়ের ভৃত্য বললো, “এখানে প্রায় 100 জন লোক আছে| এত জন লোককে আমি এইটুকু খাবার কি করে দেব?”কিন্তু ইলীশায় বললেন, “আমি বলছি তুমি খেতে দাও| প্রভু বলছেন, ‘সবাই খাওয়ার পরেও খাবার পড়ে থাকবে|”‘

BNV : তখন ইলীশায়ের ভৃত্য সেই সব খাবার নিয়ে ভাব্বাদীদের সামনে ধরলো| তাদের পেট ভরে খাওয়ানোর পরেও, প্রভু য়েমন বলেছিলেন দেখা গেল তখনও খাবার পড়ে আছে|

ERVEN : Then Elisha's servant put the food in front of the group of prophets. The group of prophets had enough to eat, and they even had food left over. This happened just as the Lord had said.
